The hostel’s central location is really nice, but a few things put me off. There’s no privacy curtain on the beds, and although the room has AC, they won’t turn it on. The street-facing rooms are so loud that keeping the windows shut in the heat makes it hard to sleep. There aren’t any hosted social activities, and the WiFi is slow and unreliable. The kitchen and fridge are locked at night, so you can’t get cold drinks then. If they improved these things, I’d be more than happy to come back.

I had a great couple of days at this hostel. It was super clean, and the staff were so welcoming. Yoss gave me good recommendations and was always friendly. Nohemí took us to a beautiful beach, then later led a hike up to the Mirador to watch the sunset. The bar wasn’t open when I visited, but you could buy beers at the front desk. The WiFi sometimes struggles, and I wish the beds had privacy curtains, but those were minor annoyances at an otherwise great hostel.

Casa Kraken made me feel right at home, especially as someone traveling alone who might have been a little hesitant. The welcoming vibe wrapped me up in good feelings. Huge thanks to Adela, the wonderful boss of the Hostel, and the amazing volunteers❣️ Salma and Joselyn were incredibly kind and helpful, and made my stay truly special. I can’t recommend Casa Kraken enough! 🐙❤️

The church right next to this hostel rings its bells all day, sometimes starting at 6am and playing for a long time, sometimes every 30 minutes. It made it really hard to sleep or get any peace. My room was unbearably hot for sleeping and poorly ventilated, even with fans. I personally wouldn’t recommend the hostel. It was very clean, though, with a nice free breakfast, great communal bathrooms, a central location, and good security.

Casa Kraken has a great location and is beautiful, safe, and clean, with the best staff. I met some really cool people, had great conversations, and made wonderful memories there. Thank you :)
