Emperador Vallarta Beachfront Hotel and Suites

The bathroom made our stay at hotel emperador the worst hotel experience of our 10-day vacation to PV. We chose it for a relaxing family trip, but a loud, screeching noise from the bathroom went on all night. Our room opened directly onto the street, so we’d already expected some noise, but this was unbearable. Everyone woke up every five minutes. We called the front desk and were told no other rooms were available and maintenance couldn’t fix it until morning. As soon as we called, we were told they knew it was a toilet pipe problem and that it had happened before. Why put anyone in that room? The next day, reception offered only a discount on a future stay. We don’t recommend this hotel for a relaxing getaway. They showed no concern for our comfort, and we won’t return.

The rooms and bathroom feel really old and overdue for an update. Even the faux leather chair was torn, and it made the room feel sad. The service was good, though it could have been a little better. The location is the big plus: right on the beach, with a nice little beachfront restaurant where hotel guests get 10% off. Guests can also use the beach beds or loungers for free. A little work could turn this into the wonderful vacation spot it deserves to be.

The beds were excellent, the Wi-Fi worked well, and we loved being right where we wanted to be. You can walk to all the clubs and bars in the Romantic zone, and there’s an Oxxo, several pharmacies, and local massage services just across the road. The views are great, and the large patio or balcony has an outdoor kitchen. It’s not modern and there’s no pool. Food service is limited to Si senior at beach level, where hotel guests get a 10% discount.

The room was comfortable and clean, and the hotel is right in the heart of the romantic zone. The beach setup was a letdown. The loungers and umbrellas advertised as hotel amenities belong to the restaurant, which has only six loungers for hotel guests. That’s clearly not enough for everyone, and we had to pay the restaurant to rent one. Don’t expect the hotel to provide beach amenities. The staff weren’t very helpful. We walked to the beach without being told we needed to get towels from the hotel, so we had to go back.
