Garlands del Rio Riverside Boutique Hotel

We used the jacuzzi twice. The first time the water was cold because we didn't know we needed to tell the staff ahead of time. It takes around 30 minutes to heat, so that's useful to know. We also had small issues with the shower and toilet seat, but staff fixed them right away. Martha, who handled our reservation, was especially kind and professional and suggested some great nearby trips and attractions. The restaurant staff were welcoming too. The hotel is in a great central spot, yet surprisingly quiet at night. We could hear live music from a nearby restaurant, but it didn't bother us and actually added to the atmosphere. We saw several different rooms, each with its own character. Ours was spacious, with a lovely river view, and the AC worked perfectly. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it.

This is a really well located, good-value boutique hotel. If you want an all-inclusive modern beachfront resort with live music, booking a boutique hotel will leave you disappointed. But if this is the kind of place you're after, it's hard to imagine doing better. The entrance can give you pause: a large metal door on a traditional street. Inside, a warm, plant-filled hallway opens into the center of the property, a little oasis in the city. There's a jacuzzi, a comfortable pool, a meeting hall, and a kitchen where you can find coffee in the morning. Depending on your booking, you can have bed and breakfast, or order breakfast à la carte at a reasonable price. You can also pick up pastries from one of the amazing bakeries nearby and bring them back; the coffee is downstairs. The rooms each have their own theme, so it's worth checking the website to see which one you'd like. It's hard to find a better spot in PV, right off the Isle C, on the Romantica side. When I had trouble arranging transport back, I went to the front desk to ask to use the phone. They offered to handle it for me instead. Incredible service. Don't be surprised by ducks in the pool; look closely and you'll see they're decoys to keep other birds out :). The pool sits among the surrounding rooms, so it's warmest when the sun is directly overhead, but comfortable most of the day. If you want a boutique hotel, you'd have to look a lot longer and go a lot harder to find this kind of comfort and value.

The balcony had a lovely view, and in the evening I could hear live music drifting from across the river. The location was perfect, especially for being close to the gay nightlife. Antonio, the resident cat and the name of my room, added even more charm. The place has a peaceful energy, the food was great, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I was welcomed with a margarita, which set the mood right away. It felt a little like Alice in Wonderland, as if I'd wandered into a hidden world. It's a magical little oasis, full of character. There are courtyards, lush trees, and beautiful tilework, with something interesting around every corner. The owners' travel finds give the place a mystical, storybook feel. Highly recommend staying here.

We spent all seven nights of our PV trip here, and I’m glad we did. The building has so much character, with little corners that were fun to wander around. Our room was charming and roomy, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the other guests we met were friendly too. The cats were a fun extra. My partner and I loved it.
