Selva Romantica

After a bad Airbnb experience, we ended up here for just a few nights at the end of our week. I never wanted to leave. Michelle, the property manager, was amazing and super helpful. The grounds and pool feel like a little oasis, even though you’re right in the heart of the zone. I’m not sure what noise the other review meant. Maybe my condo faced another direction, but I heard nothing except the trash trucks in the morning, which are hard to avoid in old Town. I love the traditional style and character, and it didn’t feel dirty or out of date. The kitchen had everything we needed. There was free laundry washing with a key, and the security guards were friendly and alert. Great water pressure, a very comfortable bed, and AC that worked well when we needed it. The location was PERFECT. We chatted with people at the pool, and many were repeat lodgers. We’re going back next month and booked the same place.

The views were incredible, and the location is great. The property has beautiful gardens, and the pool was clean and relaxing. Just a heads-up, getting to the condos means a bit of a hike up a steep hill.

I recently stayed in the Safari building at Selva. It’s gorgeous and authentic, and the pool is to die for. The stairs aren’t fun, but the employees were kind and super professional, and I’ll definitely stay there again. I find it very hard to believe someone else’s post claiming Security is racist. Security at Selva is very tight because they’re protecting everyone, and I saw them on the street many times.

Selva Romantica has some of the most beautiful, authentic grounds I’ve visited, with great views and a very Mexican feel. It’s quiet and safe, and close to town and the beach. We enjoyed our stay and can see why it’s a favorite for so many people. The authentic setup does mean lots of stairs and no elevators. There was no staff to carry our bags up more than five flights, which was tough for me and especially for my parents, who are 65 and 75, with a week’s worth of luggage. My other complaint is the pool rule: you can’t swim with any drinks, not even in plastic bottles or cups. I like having a beverage while floating or swimming, and we hardly used the gorgeous pool because of this. I understand it may not bother everyone, but I wish we’d known before booking.
