There was a feeling of being suspended in time, surrounded by nature: the ocean below, birds soaring overhead, and whales far off. The property sits above the Pacific and its own private cove, with an intimate feel, outstanding staff, and beautifully decorated, thoughtfully appointed accommodations. It's a quiet, private oceanfront escape that feels like a real reset for body and mind. The views are magnificent. Photos don't do it justice.

The beautiful public Careyeros beach is an easy eight-minute walk and well worth visiting. They provide beach towels, an umbrella, and other beach gear for free. The rooms are top quality and very clean, with amazing ocean views and a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating, always attentive without being intrusive. I can't wait to come back!

The staff were the real stars for us: helpful, friendly, laid-back, and ready to sort out whatever we needed. Since we liked morning coffee on the balcony but didn't love the restaurant coffee, they brought extra Nespresso pods for the room. When someone noticed I was using the gym, which is small but well equipped, they came in to offer to turn up the AC. Little things like that kept happening. We spent most of the trip walking the long, lovely beaches, reading, and riding the available bikes into Punta Mita. If you want to do more, I'd suggest renting a car: only two restaurants are within walking distance, and the whole west side of Punta Mita is owned by Four Seasons and private owners. You can only enter that area with a reservation and by car. The third-floor pool and bar were a gorgeous place for a swim, a drink, and sunset. The restaurant was excellent, with nearly everything we tried tasting very good, and the prices were reasonable. The building isn't big, but the rooms are airy, stylish, well appointed, and never cramped. If your budget allows, I'd recommend an ocean-view room. You're high above the waves, with birds passing on the wind. We were there in March and watched whales breaching offshore from our balcony. It was magical. I could keep going, but this is already the longest review I've ever written, so we clearly loved it. I hadn't packed enough T-shirts, so I bought one there. It's comfortable and high quality, just like everything at Basalto.

The on-site restaurant was delicious and the staff were wonderful. The hotel is so cute, and the location is stunning. Absolutely amazing. 10/10. We'll be back.

I take my vacation days seriously, especially since they're always in midsummer, and who doesn't love summer? I decided to come here, though I was a little nervous it might turn out to be the opposite of what I expected. Instead, it was a wonderful experience. I loved every corner of the hotel. Our room was beautiful, and my siblings' room was fabulous, with an unforgettable view. The employees were extremely kind and welcoming, and the services were great. There are cute spots around the hotel for pictures, so explore it. Thank you to the staff for the service. I had an amazing birthday and a great time at the bar and pool. I enjoyed it so much, and we'll definitely return!
