A beautiful destination with lovely spots to enjoy. The beaches were rockier than I'd have liked, but we had an amazing time.

The location is really great. Some units could use a refresh, especially the older towels and bedding. You also have to keep things very quiet here, as security guards stand in the trees with decibel meters. That seems a little excessive, especially at 8.30, though I guess it helps keep the place quiet. Make sure you have access to the beach clubs in the complex, since they're what make this place special.

The views were stunning, and our condo was clean and nicely furnished. We only stayed 24 hours and already miss Punta de Mita. The unit’s location made a big difference, since some units don’t open straight onto the pool and beach. Our only gripe was the shower pressure. For us, it was perfect.

We spent a lot to rent a three-bedroom home in Hacienda de Mita, and fitness matters a lot to us. But renters can only use the fitness center from 12 to 7, and it costs $20 per person. We were told it’s otherwise for owners only. That makes the amenity practically unusable, and the policy is completely unacceptable. I wouldn’t come back because of it.

We went to see friends who own a beautiful beachfront penthouse. Inside the gate, it’s spectacular.
