El Perico Marinero

The food is really good if you’re into fish, and it’s a simple restaurant. My low rating is because the shot glasses are misleadingly small: we poured one shot into a glass meant for a double and it came almost to the top, but it wasn’t even one and a half shots. Knowing that, you can still have a nice meal. If you want a double, order two single shots.

We had lunch, dinner, and breakfast here all within 24 hours. The fish was fantastic, and the guac and chips were good. I liked the margaritas, and the beer was super cold. Breakfast was good too, especially the omelette. The upstairs bar has nice views, and the pizzas coming out of the kitchen looked awesome. A reliable place to grab food between trips.

We tried this restaurant twice in rio lagartos and really recommend it, especially for a seafood dinner. The filet relleno and parillada, a mixed fish plate, were delicious. The next morning we had two smoothies and an egg breakfast dish whose name we forgot. The smoothies were okay but didn’t fully win us over, while the eggs were very good.

We came twice, once for lunch and again for breakfast the next day. Lunch tasted good, though the town had no electricity at the time, which I think is why my chicken was only half-cooked. They apologized and were very nice about it, and I picked something else. Breakfast was decent, with big, tasty pancakes. The coffee was pretty average.
