Hyatt Place Saltillo

The hotel is decent, but definitely not five-star. It was extremely cold in our room in late December because the air conditioning wasn’t working. Yellow water came out of the tap, and no one answered when we tried calling the front desk. Breakfast sucked, just coffee and bread. The staff sat around, and we had to go find them whenever we wanted to ask something.

On a business trip, I stayed on the fifth floor. It was my first time there, and the employees were friendly. The hotel connects to a plaza with other restaurants, which was a plus since we didn’t have to drive out for dinner.

The rooftop pool and seating area have a nice atmosphere and good views, and there’s a good gym with a nice view while you work out. The air conditioning worked well, and it’s generally a nice place for a business stay. The problem was that only one elevator was working, so the wait got excessive.

The location is good for restaurants, and the rooms look newer, but you may not be as comfortable as you’d like. My first room’s air conditioning didn’t work. After three hours running on high at 19C, the room only cooled to 28.5C, at night, even though I’d already told the front desk twice. They were accommodating and moved me. In the second room, it sounded like I was above the fitness area, and people started working out around 6 am. The thermostat was set to 19C overnight, but the room stayed at 22C all night. I can forgive the hotel losing water in the morning, since things happen. It came back, and I could shower. The brown water afterward was understandable and cleared after running for a long time. Staff gave me water.
