The rooms have plenty of space, and breakfast downstairs was so, so good 😋👌. The restaurant staff were really friendly and kept checking that we had what we needed. You can take food from the buffet, or tell your server what you want for breakfast and they’ll make it for you.

The lobby and rooms are the prettiest parts of the hotel. It’s well staffed, and the bartender is both talented and very friendly. The restaurant is nice too, with a good range of breakfast choices. There are also some good restaurants within walking distance.

We had a two-bedroom, two-bath suite with a very nice layout. Still, the breakfast was a real letdown. We paid extra for it, but that only covered cold food, and hot breakfast cost more. We expected a cooktop from the photos, but there wasn’t one in our room. The refrigerator was broken too, and maintenance didn’t fix it after we asked.

The suites were roomy and comfortable, with a nice flat-screen TV in each room. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was excellent. The hotel is right at the edge of town, though there are plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance. There’s also a popular Mexican bar just across from the room, which I wasn’t thrilled about. Fortunately, it was closed over election weekend. This was my second stay at DoubleTree in Saltillo in six months, and I’d stay there again if I return.

The rooms are expensive for the quality you get, and this hotel badly needs an update. The bathrooms had rusty fixtures, and glue was visible all over the bathroom wallpaper. The whole place looked like it hadn’t been painted in ages. Kitchen appliances were dirty, outdated, and not working. Lighting in the rooms was so dim that maintenance staff opened the curtains while working and even remarked on how dark it was. There’s a lot more that could be said, but these issues all point to the need for renovation.
