The Mexican-inspired decor reminds me of my roots, and the location is a big plus. The apartments are within walking distance of restaurants and the park of San Andrés. I've stayed at Majikal twice, on separate occasions, and had a great experience both times. A nice place for a first visit to Cholula.
The Krishna room was especially lovely, so well arranged and beautifully decorated. The place felt like home, and I really enjoyed it. Restaurants and coffee shops are nearby too.
The whole Cholula area can be loud, with churches and fireworks all around, so keep that in mind. But the location is about as central as you can get, and the rooms are beautiful and full of character. Seriously one of the coolest places we've stayed.
You can walk to lots of great spots for dining and sightseeing from here. The courtyards are charming, and each apartment has its own thoughtful, distinctive decor. I stayed in the Frida room, a tribute to the artist. They even brought me a yoga mat when I asked. If you're visiting in winter, pack warm socks and a sweater because the nights get chilly.
China Poblana was great value for money, and I'd definitely stay there again. The room was decorated with lots of little touches and felt like a cozy bohemian nest. The kitchen had everything I could need, the bed was comfortable, and there was hot water and good WIFI. I also liked the location, and communication with the manager/host was great.
