Hotel Villas Arqueológicas Cholula

The place itself was beautiful, but our New Year's visit didn't turn out the way we expected.

The breakfast buffet was really good and reasonably priced at 180 pesos per person. Dinner, on the other hand, felt kind of expensive at 225-350 per meal. The rooms are quite small and could use upgrades, especially the shower heads and towels. It's not the best place, but not the worst either. The staff are really good, especially Gerson at reception and the waiters.

The beds weren't very comfortable, and the room was noisy since the doors don't close tightly, so outside sounds come straight in. We had no phone in our room, which meant calling from our own phones for room service. We raised it with staff, but were told there was supposedly no connection for it. The phone their is ok. I asked for two double beds and got one double and one twin instead. They said they were booked, though it didn't look that way. It was a last-minute decision to stay here, and I don't plan to return.

We stayed at Villas Arqueológicas from April 18-28 of 2022, and my first visit to Mexico became a memorable one. My husband had finally returned to his beloved Mexico after 39 years in the USA, bringing our son, Skye, and me. I found the hotel while googling places to stay, liked the reviews, then called to book. One of my husband's nephews turned out to be a security guard there. The setting, atmosphere, staff, and location were wonderful. It was clean every day, and the food was excellent. One evening I ordered grilled salmon and asked the cook to grate ginger on it, which is my speciality. He didn't have any, but I had bought some at the market, and he kindly accommodated me. I know hotel hospitality from experience, and the service was what I expected. We'll certainly return. Thanks for making the trip special, and keep up the great service!
