Hotel Boutique Bacaanda

The food was better than I expected. Everything we tried was tasty, served in generous portions and presented beautifully. The ingredients and care in the cooking came through, and the prices felt reasonable for the service, facilities, and experience. We also spent a lot of time by the pool, which was a great place to relax in the sun. Everything was spotless and well looked after. The staff were kind, attentive, and ready to help throughout our stay. The hotel has a welcoming, peaceful feel, with thoughtful decor that made it comfortable and special from the moment we arrived. It worked well for relaxing together, whether as a couple, with friends, or on your own. We had a lovely stay and would come back.

The place looks nice, but the room hygiene and staff made our weekend stay a bad experience. Both nights we were bitten by insects we suspect were bed bugs. Several parts of the room had long-standing grime, and they didn't clean early. Staff were hard to find because reception was often empty, and when we did ask for help, they weren't helpful and seemed annoyed. I feel sure they answer these messages with lies to discredit customers by spreading rumors about things that didn't happen. They should spend their effort making the hotel deliver the cleanliness, quiet, organization, and service it advertises. Bed bugs are a serious health risk and an unacceptable hygiene failure for a "boutique" hotel. We won't return. We had a high budget and regret not choosing somewhere better that would have given us the experience they claim to offer, instead of paying their rate to sleep with animals. I hope anyone else who gets caught in their web of lies has a good time, unlike us. And the rude people who respond to messages defaming customers are the same ones serving them. Imagine that!

One of the worst places I've stayed. We booked one night and hoped to add another. They wouldn't charge us for dinner then, saying they'd total it up later. Check the bill carefully, because they added more than we had actually eaten. For the extra night, a woman first quoted something like $1,700 to $2,000, close to the Booking.com price. They then tried to charge $2,500. Around 9:00 pm, I called politely to ask why the price had changed and whether they'd honor the quote, since I felt cheated. The woman who answered had a terrible attitude, yelled, and aggressively demanded to know who I was and where I was calling from. I explained we were guests. She rudely said the night cost $5,000. I said they should have told us that at the start. We wanted to leave, but they wouldn't let us go and said we'd be charged $500 an hour if we did. The manager arrived acting very arrogantly, and I told her she should call the police. I never insulted her, even after the woman on the phone yelled at me. She said, "You don't know what the police here do to young ladies like you," which I clearly took as a threat. The police eventually came, and we were able to leave thanks to them. We were charged a supposed "deductible" even though we'd never signed an agreement or authorized them to take amounts they decided on arbitrarily.

We didn't have a good stay and wouldn't recommend coming back. The hotel felt very basic and ordinary, far from what I'd expect of a boutique hotel. Wi-Fi didn't work, the garden wasn't looked after, and there were small insects in our room. I couldn't tell if they were fleas or bedbugs, but it was frightening. At night, a rude, unpleasant-looking woman walked the dogs in the early hours while we were trying to sleep. We don't know who she was, but she was incredibly rude and arrogant. In the morning we had to open the car gate ourselves because no staff were there. The electricity also fluctuated, and the voltage seemed makeshift. Regards.
