Tecnohotel Beach

Jose kept bringing us drinks, and the buffet was tasty with plenty to choose from. The beach at The Techno Beach Club was lovely and not too busy, and the service was great. We’d come ashore from our cruise in Progreso as a family of six, planning to take a taxi to a beach club. Abraham turned out to be a fun driver and took us to see the flamingos before dropping us at the club. We had a wonderful day and wished it could’ve lasted longer.

The pools, beach club, and ocean are all right there, and the atmosphere is great. I’d recommend staying here. The rooms were clean, though getting an iron, hair dryer, or pool and beach towels means leaving your ID at the front desk. The beds were okay, but the sheets and blankets could be better. Service was unpredictable: some servers were really helpful, while other times it was a gamble whether the order would arrive. Payment was confusing too, since some days we could open a tab and other days we had to pay right away. With our large group, we quickly lost track of what had been paid and when.

Nothing especially memorable here. The waiters seemed to be doing their best, but service and etiquette could use more training. The food was average at best, and pretty expensive for what you get. I’d hoped things would improve after the new management took over from former Tecnohotel, but they haven’t.

The staff really made the stay, they were friendly and helpful throughout. We spent two nights here and enjoyed it. Rooms are basic but clean, with new mattresses. Most of the food was good if you stick to Mexican dishes. The fries and chicken tenders weren’t good. There are two pools with lots of chairs and space, and the beachfront was great. A nice place for a few calm days by the beach.
