Hotel Garza Canela

The restaurant on site had good food and great service, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Josephina and Doris deserve a special thank you for arranging a local bird tour in La Tovara for us. The hotel is tucked away at the edge of town, with beautiful, very clean rooms and grounds. I’d absolutely recommend staying here in San Blas, and I’ll be back next time.

We had a relaxing eight nights in this little slice of paradise. The family running this beautiful resort gave top notch service, and the grounds are stunning. There’s also a restaurant on site. We were really impressed, thank you!!!

The atmosphere was really nice, and I enjoyed the restaurant’s guacamole. But I wouldn’t recommend staying here at this price. My room, number 37, didn’t look like the pictures, had a few ants by the bed, and had no fridge or microwave. The bed was so hard I had trouble sleeping, and the AC was just on or off with no control. The Wi-Fi kept cutting out, and they wouldn’t move me to another room without charging extra. The power went out twice, though it came back fairly quickly. Maybe it was just my room, so take that into account. At most, I’d call it a three-star place.

The hotel manager was wonderful when we attended a wedding ahead of Hurricane Nora. Worried about our safety, she asked us to be back around 10pm, before the storm got worse. When we returned, she was waiting like a mom, ready to look after us. The storm was strong, but the hotel held up well. We lost power for only about 30 seconds at a time, while friends at other hotels were without it all night. We’ll stay here again next time we’re in the area. Most awesome hotel ever!
