The owner is really nice, and the private rooms are affordable. It’s a little outside the central area, but only a short walk away. I’ve stayed here twice, once over Christmas and again at New Year’s.

It’s fairly close to the city center, and the manager was very attentive. A welcoming place to relax, with good service.

Our four-day stay was awful. The owner made us feel unwelcome the whole time. After two days, he tried to move us because he’d forgotten we had registered and said our room was supposedly taken. When we arrived, nobody was at reception. We knocked for hours with no answer, then finally asked the neighbors to call someone. We paid extra to use the kitchen, but they locked it afterward so we couldn’t get in. They entered our room while we were out even though we’d clearly said we didn’t want cleaning, and they didn’t clean it anyway. The room was left as it was. They took our towels and didn’t replace them. In short, a terrible experience. Don’t come.

It’s a quiet place where you can relax and enjoy yourself, and the manager was incredibly attentive. There’s a lovely reading room too. I highly recommend it, it’s my favorite spot in San Cristóbal.
