The location is ideal, just a couple of blocks from the main square, and the staff were great, especially Mabel the dog. They helped me arrange a taxi to the airport, which was nice, and the very cheap laundry service on site was handy. The bathroom was okay, though the water was only just tepid. Good value, but it can get pretty noisy.

Such a gem in San Cristobal. The rooms were clean and comfy, and the staff and room service were great. My only complaint is that there’s nowhere to smoke, no balcony or yard. The lobby closes early, and there isn’t a private place to make a phone call.

I was there for over a week in late November 2017 and was very satisfied with what I got for the price. I found a deal online. The owner, Susana, speaks good English and was friendly and helpful. I loved all the plants in the lobby. It was usually dark there, as other reviews said, but my room had good lighting. The hotel is conveniently close to the city center. There’s a church across the street that rings its bells at 7 a.m. every day. There are a lot of churches in the city, so good luck avoiding that. My room had neither heat nor AC. I’m not sure AC is ever needed, but in late November I wished I could raise the temperature on a few chilly mornings and nights. The tile floor was cold too, and a rug or two would have helped. Bring slippers or socks in the colder months. I wonder if many hotels have heat, since most businesses there don’t seem to. Still, the bed had two thick wool blankets and a comforter, with another blanket on the shelf, and I was never cold while sleeping. One day the shower was rather cold, probably because of the timing, since that was the day I slept in. If you like to blow-dry your hair, bring a hair dryer, and bring a washcloth if you use one. They provided soap, shampoo, and clean hand and bath towels every day.

The staff are so nice, the towels are thick, and there’s access to safe water everywhere. The rooms are great, with really hot shower water. The internet was the best I’ve had in Mexico, and I’m there most of the year. It’s a few blocks from the center, with a Lavendaria close by and a restaurant in the hotel.

I’ve stayed here many times. It’s safe, very clean, and economical, with comfy beds and great staff. Couldn’t ask for a more pleasant place to stay.
