The on-site Pescadito was a highlight, with incredible food and drinks. We were looking forward to breakfast there both mornings. The hotel also made it easy to get to Downtown San Jose Del Cabo and CSL, and it’s a nice choice if you want to avoid crowded tourist areas. We just spent two nights at Cabo Break and absolutely loved it. The room had one of the best views I’ve ever had at a hotel. I’d been unsure after reading some reviews, but we had no problems. No noise bothered us, though maybe it’s seasonal, and falling asleep and waking up to the waves was lovely.

The beach out front is spectacular, and we had a comfortable, spacious room, plus a great little pool deck. The attached restaurant was awesome, and we had no trouble with the water or AC. We did hear a dog barking next door for hours on both nights, waking us up. We weren’t in an ocean view room, and I think one facing the ocean might have blocked more of it. On our last morning we figured out that shutting the bathroom door helped, since the noise came through a window that wouldn’t close all the way. That’s why I’d rate the room four stars. The staff seemed sympathetic and hopefully will fix the issue. We’ll return, but pay for an ocean view to avoid possible noise.

It looks like a beautiful place in a beautiful location, but be aware of the strict refund policy. I had to cancel less than 24 hours after booking because of a difficult family situation, and they wouldn’t refund anything. They offered a voucher that expired in a year. I explained I couldn’t travel during that time, and although they said they’d think it over, they ultimately said no. That’s their policy, so it was my mistake to expect the compassion I might have gotten at another hotel. Just know what to expect.

The view was the best part, especially after we upgraded our room, and the hotel’s location is incredible. It’s a small local place that seems aimed at surfers or travelers who don’t need much in the way of frills. The room was spacious and the staff we met were friendly. Beatriz at the front desk was welcoming and helpful, and Rafael took great care of us at the hotel restaurant, where we ate one evening. It’s a laid back, self sufficient stay, with limited staff. The front desk isn’t always staffed when they’re doing things around the property, and you reuse the same two beach towels for pool or beach until housekeeping comes by. The bed was very firm, and the thin walls let in waves all night and music until 10. Some might find that relaxing, but it was tough for light sleepers. One night a strong rotten egg smell woke us. We worried it could be a gas leak and contacted the hotel on WhatsApp. Security came and said it was normal, probably ocean related. But the odor was only in our room, not the balcony or hallway, so that explanation didn’t convince us. We turned off the AC and the smell faded, then didn’t return. If you want a small local hotel with amazing views and are fine with a rustic, casual feel, this could work well. The location is the main draw.

Right on the beach, with spotless comfortable rooms and a nice pool. The ocean waves are strong, so swimming there isn’t ideal. The attached restaurant serves great food and drinks, and Beatriz at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. There is a nearby bar with loud weekend music, as people say, but earplugs meant I slept really well. I loved staying here and would absolutely come back.
