The rooftop jacuzzis have amazing views of the surrounding landscape, and both the room and facilities are beautiful. My only issue was the distance from the airport. I booked through Expedia, where the address made it look like a 5-10 minute trip, but it actually takes around 40 minutes. The property is about halfway along the ocean road between San Jose Del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. If airport proximity doesn't matter to you, it's a beautiful place to stay.

We ended up staying one night because our flight was canceled, but I'd happily return. The rooftop hot tubs overlook the ocean and mountains, and Kenia, Daniel, and the rest of the staff were very helpful. The rooms are huge, with nice bathrooms, balconies, big closets, and all the cooking and entertaining amenities you'd need to feel at home. It seems especially suited to a group staying for several weeks.

The concierge and security staff were really nice and helpful, and the unit was clean and pleasant. The street right beside it does bring some noise, as other reviews mention, though it wasn't too bad for me. I had a great stay and will come back.

We had a large two-bedroom sea-view room for three nights in November 2025. Check-in was easy, the room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The location between San Lucas and San Jose was convenient, with an OXXO downstairs as well as two restaurants, a pharmacy, and a pizza place. There was some highway noise, but not overnight, and the underground parking was secure. We really enjoyed the stay.

This was a disastrous stay, and the customer service felt more like harassment. The rooms look nice at first, but a lot of basic things don't work properly. Throughout the trip, it seemed like the hotel kept trying to get extra money from us. Be very careful with your card: I was charged twice for one room, over $2,500 USD, and one of my guests was double-charged too. The person I was told handled finances was no help. We spent all day going in circles through calls and messages, and I ultimately had to dispute the charges to get my money back. I froze my card while there and ordered a replacement because I was scared they might charge it again without warning. I booked 21 rooms at Marella Cabo for a retreat. When I booked in June, the staff I dealt with seemed helpful and accommodating. They confirmed in writing that we could use the gym for afternoon sessions and the rooftop for meals and yoga. After everything was booked, I was told we'd have to pay to use the rooftop for meals. I pushed back, showed the written confirmation, and they eventually agreed to honor the original promise. I also learned the gym was about one third the size they'd described, so our guests couldn't fit in it and I had to scramble to find another workshop space. Although I had twice received written confirmation that rooftop yoga was free, staff sent threatening messages just as a class was starting, saying we couldn't use the space unless we paid $1,500 USD. Their false promises and last-minute threats forced me to rearrange the rest of the retreat. Whoever runs the Marella concierge text line is disorganized and communicates terribly. Messages were passive-aggressive, harassing, and inconsistent, and they mixed up several bookings. Each morning brought random messages about “new rules,” with different guests receiving different rules at different times. Our group was quiet, respectful, and considerate, so we didn't appreciate being treated this way. The property has plenty of problems beyond the service. It's extremely loud: you can feel cars vibrating from the major highway right outside, and the pipes squeal loudly through the night. There are no blackout curtains, so rooms stay bright even at night and sleeping past 6 a.m. is nearly impossible without an eye mask, probably two. Our drain was clogged, and showers in most units swung constantly between painfully hot and cold. The internet dropped every few minutes in many rooms, so I had to use my phone hotspot all week just to check email. The hot tubs were lukewarm at best; the instructions were wrong, it took four days to work them out, and even then they needed to be turned on 90 minutes ahead. Housekeeping costs extra, something they didn't mention until check-in. They also charged 700 pesos for early check-in even when rooms were empty. The beach is advertised as 400 yards away, but you have to cross a major highway and then ask security at a luxury hotel to let you through. In my experience, there's only about a 50/50 chance they'll agree, so expect to take an Uber to the beach. The rooftop is very dark after sunset, almost pitch black, which makes eating there difficult. Even a simple question to the concierge often gets a generic copy-and-paste response that has nothing to do with what you asked. This retreat was an absolute nightmare. I strongly advise against staying here, especially for group bookings or retreats, unless the customer service team is completely replaced and the internet, water, noise, and curtains are fixed.
