Palmilla Dunes Luxury Residences

Palmilla Dunes worked perfectly for our routine: we stayed 10 days in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouse, working half days in the morning and vacationing in the afternoon. The Wi-Fi was excellent, and there was plenty of room for my wife and me to work comfortably. We’d guess it was about 1,500 square feet, with two huge bedrooms, two large bathrooms, a big living room, a den, and a roomy kitchen. Four adults could easily fit. The property is new, and as far as we could tell, the townhouses are privately owned and rented out, sort of like Airbnb. On site, the amenities were limited to the pool, pool bar and kitchen, gym, and tennis facilities. There aren’t other restaurants or shops on the property. Across the way is a small shopping center with a few restaurants, the two we tried were very good, and a small grocery store that’s convenient but extremely expensive, about two to four times what you’d pay at a grocery store. The main downside is getting around. Although grocery stores and restaurants are close, less than a mile or an easy 15-20 minute walk, the property is off a freeway and there are no sidewalks, so you can’t walk there and need a taxi or Uber. Uber was very hard to get, with few cars available at any time, and taxis were expensive too. Still, it’s a great place to relax and get work done if that’s what you’re after.
