Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Luis Potosi

After driving all day and night from Tampa, Florida, we reached the hotel around 7 PM, tired and in loungewear, hoping to shower and freshen up. Paola and Ximena were at the desk, but neither greeted us. I felt like we didn’t meet their expectations for how guests should dress, since other people in business clothes did get a greeting. Their attitude stayed awful from check-in through the end, and I just wanted to get our room. They didn’t mention during the paperwork that there would be extra charges for my son and daughter. When I got to the room, there were only two towels. I went downstairs for two more, and they said I had to pay extra for the other two people in the room to get them, so I did. It then took 15 minutes to get the towels, while they chatted with the laundry lady in front of me. I had to remind them again. For the price and extra fees, this was by far the worst hotel we’ve stayed at. We could have stayed somewhere better with better service.

The friendly front desk gave good service, and the hotel was quiet, modern, and comfortable, with a great bed. There’s a huge parking lot, a good American breakfast, and a 24-hour store nearby. Its location close to the main road worked well for us. We stayed just one night and arrived late, so I didn’t take any pictures. There’s everything we needed except a mini fridge, which didn’t matter to us.

We only stayed one quick night and didn’t check out the amenities, but we’d stay again. The price was good, the staff friendly, and the place clean, with comfy beds. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and it met our modest needs.

The restaurant food was really good, and the staff were very friendly. Beautiful design and fantastic value. A great place to stay.
