We were glad to find this charming Italianate boutique hotel for an extended weekend in San Miguel de Allende. We wanted somewhere close to Zona Centro without being right in the middle of it, and the hotel is about a ten-minute walk from the central cultural, shopping, and social hub. We had been warned about the church bells near the city's central landmark, the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, so that distance suited us. The main drawback was construction next door for a proposed hotel and condominium complex. We heard jackhammers in the morning, though we usually left before the noise became too much. The staff were accommodating. After an overnight flight to Leon-Guanajuato Airport and a drive of more than 90 minutes, we got there at 7:30AM, well before the 3PM check-in. Our room was ready, and they kindly let us in early. We booked a Signature Room, 431 square feet, with a King bed, double sofa bed, and a large bathroom. The shoulder season rate was $175 a night including tax. Daily housekeeping was included, along with a tasty hot breakfast on the third-floor terrace. Sunday's buffet, with local specialties, was a nice bonus. A great find.

We enjoyed quiet evenings on the gorgeous rooftop, with a lovely view, and breakfast is served up there too. This beautiful boutique hotel is right in the heart of San Miguel. Our room was spacious and beautifully appointed, the lobby was lovely, and the staff were friendly.

Gus is so welcoming and lovely, and the breakfasts are great. It's a small, gorgeous, quiet hotel in a perfect spot, close to everything but still peaceful. The rooms are clean and the beds super comfy. We'll be back!

San Miguel was our favourite city on our first trip to Mexico, so charming and gorgeous. We stayed at Aqua Santa Hotel Boutique and felt very much at home thanks to the hospitality and comfortable space. We had a pleasant stay, and Gus, the manager, made our time memorable. The shower was a major problem. There was no hot water at first, then it wouldn't turn off for the whole night. For what we paid, I expected a shower that worked. When I asked for a refund, they said they'd return the cost of one night but only refunded half of that. The staff have stopped responding. I'm truly disappointed.
