La Morada

The staff were all friendly and helpful, and they made our stay wonderful. This charming boutique hotel has spacious rooms and excellent service.

AAA booked the hotel for us, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The room turned out to be immaculate, the cleanest we’ve ever stayed in, and beautifully renovated with lots of space. The king bed and pillows were the most comfortable ever, and the bathroom was spa quality. 10/10. Jaime communicated with me by email before we arrived and throughout our stay. He arranged an airport transfer, and the driver was waiting with our name. He also told us where to exchange money for pesos. The hotel is right near the center, so we can walk to everything. There are fine shops around every corner, plus lots of great cafes and restaurants nearby. We’re still here and looking forward to more of the amenities.

San Miguel is easy to explore from this great location, but there wasn’t much else positive about our stay. The room wasn’t very clean. Its only air conditioner was a portable unit that worked poorly, made noise, and required the window to stay open. At 3am, a rat appeared in the bathroom. We realized some of the “dirt” we’d seen in a few places was rat droppings. After that horrible experience I couldn’t sleep, and left as soon as the sun came up. We got barely an apology. I definitely won’t return, and don’t understand how the place has a 4.7 rating.

The location was great, and the staff were always glad to help. The front desk gave local recommendations, printed documents, held our bags after checkout, and helped arrange transportation. Thank you, Mr. Jaime Leyva, for such excellent service.
