Casa del Mar Cozumel Hotel & Dive Resort with Beach Club access included

The room was really nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the food and even joined in the book exchange. I stayed at Casa Del Mar for a weeklong scuba trip and had a great time. It’s handy for scuba pickups, but quieter than the downtown hotels. I’ll definitely stay again.

The view of the water from the pool deck is gorgeous, and housekeeping and restaurant staff were great. That’s about the best I can say. At check-in, the front desk was extremely rude when we raised an issue and wouldn’t discuss a real solution, saying they were busy. There was only one other family checking in, though, and we spent two hours waiting while they said they’d “talk to a manager.” The on-site restaurant wasn’t worth a penny. Even the credit from our Expedia booking points didn’t cover a basic breakfast. We spent the first six nights in a cabana advertised with a kitchenette for cooking, but they didn’t mention that there was nothing there to cook with. We would have had to buy pots, pans, utensils, and even more of the items they did provide, since the cabana sleeps four but only had two of those. For the money, an Airbnb would have been a better choice.

The room was disgusting and very outdated. Everything is worn out, and nothing seems to have been updated. There’s only one plug in the whole room, behind the TV, for charging a phone. The Wi-Fi doesn’t work at all.

The gardens were lovely, the rooms were clean, and the restaurant was nice. It’s super close to Roberta’s, the best diving in Cozumel. The cruise ships were a bit too close for my liking, but I still really liked my stay!
