Casita de Maya Boutique Hotel

Dan, the owner, was easy to like and clearly cared about our experience. He was helpful with requests, from scooter rental to entertainment suggestions, and all our interactions with the staff were positive. The highlight of our short visit was Daniel, the in-house cook and bartender, who isn’t the owner. He was often around with food, drinks, or a fun conversation. He’s an excellent chef and made the best margarita I’ve ever had. Casita de Maya is close to everything but still quiet and secluded, with the private feel that higher-end resorts try to offer. The location is great, within walking distance of the airport and only a few blocks from the “tourist” part of Cozumel. Glad we found it, and we’ll be back.

Leaving Casita de Maya made me so sad. Dan, the owner who lives on the property, Chef Daniel, Eduardo, and the rest of the staff made it feel like home. They treated us like family during our short stay, with so much kindness and wonderful hospitality. We loved the recommendations and the conversations, and I can’t imagine coming back to Cozumel without stopping here. I’ll always remember the trip fondly and think of our time with Dan, Chef Daniel, Eduardo, Freddie, Bigotes, and Choc. Love you guys!

We spent a few days here during my Christmas break, and the atmosphere was comfortable and enjoyable. Dan, the owner, was incredibly friendly, while Daniel and Eduardo were attentive and accommodating. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Cozumel.

Two nights wasn’t nearly enough, and we’ll definitely stay longer next year. My husband and I came a few days early for a relaxing break before diving with my local shop in Virginia, and found this hotel after reading the reviews. It’s an easy five-minute walk from the airport, but don’t let that put you off, it was quiet and relaxing. From the moment we arrived, they treated us like family. The place is quaint and clean, and Dan is friendly and knows a lot about the island. The food and drinks were delicious.
