The ocean view was spectacular, and both the pool and room were very clean. The beds were comfortable. Staff were okay, though the front desk could have done a better job.

We’ve stayed here three years running because the beachfront in Melaque is the best. This time, though, the hotel's decline was shocking. The staff are very good and trying hard, but it feels like a losing battle. Short-term guests are taking a serious toll on the rooms, and the pool becomes cloudy and murky after weekends because day-pass visitors are allowed in without supervision. The nonstop boom box noise is awful. Long-term customers are leaving, and we won't be back here next year, though we'll still visit Melaque and stay elsewhere.

I went to see the property four months before our family gathering and realized it wasn't what we expected. It's a 15-minute walk from town through a bad area, which didn't feel suitable for my children and grandchildren. I found several better oceanfront options in town and asked for my $200 deposit back. They wouldn't return any of it, even though I was canceling four months ahead. I'd suggest paying a deposit and booking somewhere else.

My April 2024 trip from Canada was canceled, so my sister tried to get back the 5,000-peso cash deposit she'd left after looking at the room for my two-week reservation. The hotel would only offer credit, not a refund. I can't just drop by from Canada to use that credit, so the money is gone. I'm disgusted. Beware of the no-refund policy.
