Hostal Casa Purpura

The staff were very friendly, but I couldn’t get any rest. Dust was everywhere, the pillows had yellowed, and the old beds had shabby-looking blankets. There was only cold water, and the bathroom was the most uncomfortable one I’ve ever used. The shower looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. I’d rather pay more for somewhere more comfortable.

Everything is close by since it’s right in the city center. The hostel feels safe, and they give you a key to come and go. There’s a nearby parking lot that felt secure too. Breakfast includes coffee, bread, jam, cereal and milk, and both the parking attendants and hostel staff are very friendly. It’s a clean, pleasant place to rest, and I highly recommend it.

There’s just one electrical outlet in each room, which isn’t enough. Breakfast is included, with toast and coffee, and the bathroom is spacious. The rooms are clean, but the place feels unfinished.

We had no trouble booking from a distance, and they answer the phone. The staff were helpful and attentive. The location is good, close to the city center and the park, and the area is quiet. But the room was a different story. We stayed one night, and the bathroom was very dirty, with days-old stains on the floor in both the toilet area and shower. The sheets were dirty too, and I saw bedbugs in the bed myself. The bed was passable, not great. At 650 pesos, it felt unfair for what we got. I don’t mind a basic place, but the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Fine for a quick stop if you need one, otherwise I’d look elsewhere.
