Hotel Bedford

It’s a bit of a drive to the historic city centre, but otherwise things were fine. The shower pressure wasn’t great, though it did the job. Breakfast was nice, and the lovely staff spoke English, which was a plus.

2018/11 There’s parking in front of the hotel, and the service is friendly. The place is cozy and clean. Breakfast was just average, with hot food, fruit, coffee, bread, toast, and juice. There’s no hair dryer in the bathroom. One thing that annoyed me: at 10:30am the housekeeper would knock, then open the door if nobody answered.

The location worked well for me, right by the Autonomous University of Queretaro, and the hotel is small, cozy, and brand new. Staff are friendly and quick, breakfast buffet is included and pretty decent, and there are enough towels and toiletries. I liked that it’s non-smoking. The bathroom is spacious, but the beds aren’t very comfortable and the cleaning could be better. It’s a bit overpriced, though still a better deal than other nearby hotels. Fine for one night. There’s a small gym too.

I went for a wedding, and the groom had kindly paid for everything, though I didn’t know that. When I checked out, I paid with my card, only to find out later the bill had already been covered. He asked the hotel to refund me, but suddenly they said they couldn’t. Eventually they gave him a courtesy night, so it wasn’t exactly theft, but it was a really bad experience. If you’re traveling internationally, keep a close eye on the charges. They don’t make this easy.
