The house may appeal if you're looking for a typical Mexican home, but the room I chose wasn't a comfortable place to stay and relax. Maintenance doesn't seem to be a priority. The AC was broken, so the room was very cold for sleeping. The windows were very dirty, the shower head didn't work properly, the towel holder was loose, the soap dispenser was damaged, and there was no hand soap. The safe for our passports also didn't work properly, and breakfast was served cold. The nightly price should be about 45% lower. I clearly wouldn't return or recommend it.

We had a lovely three-night stay. The beds were very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. The hotel is centrally located yet still fairly quiet.

This was my second stay, and it's a good hotel with wonderful rainhead showers. The amenities are great: big fluffy towels and bathrobes, plus really good soap, shampoo, and other products. The location at Hidalgo and Allende makes it easy to walk just about anywhere. Breakfast is served from 9 to 11. V60 specialty coffee is up the street, along with Kao and Koffein, and Naranjo has a wonderful breakfast. My main problem was the bed. I was put in Durazno, and the mattress was so hard it felt like concrete. I couldn't sleep and ended up exhausted. Mangono has a nice, comfortable bed, but Durazno and Limón don't. If hard beds don't bother you, that may be fine, but I would avoid those rooms and try to book Mangono. I left early on the second day to explore Sierra Gorda and returned late, so I couldn't request a room change. The second night was just as difficult. Durazno is compact, too, so you'll have to get creative about where to hang your things. Bring a sleep mask because the patio lights stay on all night and shine into the room. Make sure the bed and room work for you when you check in. Aside from the bed issue, I think it's a very good hotel, but that part made my stay miserable.

The rooms have heaters, which is a nice bonus and pretty rare in Mexico, and they're decorated in a Mexican style. The breakfast was simple but good, and the woman at the front desk was friendly. It's a quaint hotel in a great spot in the historic center of Queretaro. There are a couple of things to fix: the chair in our room was filthy and needed cleaning, and the door was extremely hard to lock or unlock. It sometimes took five minutes to get it working, and our friends had the same trouble.
