Mesón de Santa Rosa Luxury Hotel

The location was great, but the rooms were awful, with no windows and no tea or coffee facilities. I paid for meals in advance, and the unused credit wasn't refunded. Nobody warned me about that beforehand, and when I asked about it, they didn't respond. Disgusting service.

We had such a good time. The people were lovely, the service spot on, and the location beautiful. There was live music too. The showers could maybe use some improvement 🚿🥴❤️

Our allocated room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, so the hotel itself was fine. Still, having cash taken from our room left a bad feeling and got our trip along the so-called “Silver route” off to a poor start. We should have put the cash in the safe, as we did with our passports. It had been tucked away in our suitcase, but someone rummaged through our things to get it. We learned from that and now always put our money in the safe with our passports.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but I ate at its restaurant two nights in a row because the food and service were so good. The shrimp tacos are well worth trying. The setting was lovely, with musicians playing in the plaza. I speak no Spanish, but the servers spoke a little English between them and were very attentive. Google Translate helped me explain what I needed, and the whole experience was brilliant.
