Santa Lucha Hostel

The room was decent, but the shower and tub need work. There’s no parking lot, despite what the website says, so you have to find public parking or pay to park elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and I won’t be back.

The hotel has a nice location and vibe, and the rooms have a cute, unusual design. Check-in took ages, though. The clerk was pleasant but didn’t know the right Wi-Fi password, and didn’t explain how to use the AC or TV, which weren’t intuitive. There was no bathroom soap either, so I used shampoo for a couple of days before it was finally refilled. Housekeeping wasn’t very good. Even with those problems, I’d probably stay again.

The room felt neglected, with poor lighting, a dirty shower, and no bathroom privacy at all. The safe was shut with its alarm ringing. Staff said they didn’t know what to do because it had never happened before. I asked to change rooms, but was told there were none available even though the place seemed empty. When I came back late that night, the safe was still closed and the alarm was still going. It kept ringing all night. At check-in and check-out there was nobody at the front desk; calls went unanswered, and staff were at the bar. They didn’t seem to care and gave lousy answers with a big smile. Terrible experience.

Clean, upscale, and easy to get around on foot. The hotel sits on a quiet street close to everything, and the welcoming staff were so attentive. Breakfast in the courtyard is hard to beat.
