AzulPitaya Beach Resort in Sayulita

The quieter north side of town suited us, and we felt safe on the short walk to the main area, with plenty of other people around. The hotel is right on a private beach, and the beach to the north is less crowded and commercial than the stretch toward town. There’s also a beach cafe/bar and a restaurant out front with excellent pizza. We really enjoyed our stay and would return. It’s a small hotel, so we saw the staff every day and got to know them by their first names. They were exceptional. The setting around the pool is lovely, and the decorations are very cute. Some features in the rooms are dated, including physical keys for the door, patio, and safe. They’re modernizing the rooms, and we hope those will eventually use key cards and a pin so we won’t have extra keys to keep track of. We didn’t hear any construction noise during our stay.

We had an amazing week with the whole family at AzulPitaya. The rooms were huge and everything was so clean. The pool area was wonderful, and we loved the delicious breakfast by the beach. Staff were kind and friendly, and Rosario deserves a special shout-out for being extra awesome. The beachfront spot is perfect, with downtown Sayulita an easy walk away.

We thought the value was great. The hotel has a cute, colorful little shop, and the front desk staff were very nice and quick to respond. It’s a little dated, but clean, with a big pool area and restaurant service. Chayo, Yari, and Emma were kind, friendly, and fast. I left my shoes on the beach overnight, and they made sure they were still there for me the next day. Breakfast was included, and we could order anything on the menu, including multiple dishes and drinks. We don’t like wasting food or overeating, so we only ordered what we needed. Tips aren’t included, so bring cash. The hotel is at the north end of Sayulita and has a turquoise, white, and fucsia color scheme.

The pool is incredible, and there are lots of games and fun things for the kids nearby. The beach staff are great, too. Everyone was so nice, especially Miguel at reception. We’ll definitely be back.
