For the price and location, I thought it was very good. The staff were really friendly, and the place was clean with fine beds. You may have to ask if you need things like fresh bed sheets. It can be loud at night because it's in the middle of a big party town, but it has one of the best views in all of Sayolita. We stayed on the top floor, with a million-dollar view and the best patio in town right beside it. If nightlife is your thing, especially the top floor, this is the place. They saved us at the last minute when we had nowhere to stay after a really bad experience with a previous hotel. They probably could have charged us more since we didn't know better. In fact, I accidentally paid an extra 500 pesos one day without getting a receipt, and they told me the next day and applied it to my bill. I'll definitely be back.

We didn't stay at Las Graditas, but at an Airbnb on the same hillside, about 25 meters south. I'm writing because hotel management needs to do a better job making sure guests respect the rest of the community. For four nights in a row, guests played very loud music from midnight until 5 or 5:30 AM. It was clearly audible and kept people nearby from sleeping. One night around 3:30 AM, I yelled once or twice between songs for them to turn it down. They lowered it a little, but the next night it was back up just as loud. I understand people come to Mexico to have a good time, but music loud enough to disturb neighbors within a 100-plus-foot radius almost until dawn, night after night, isn't cool. Other reviewers have mentioned this too. They could bring it inside, turn it down a little, and close the windows. You can still have a great time without ruining everyone else's. At my Airbnb, one of the house rules was to be courteous to neighbors and minimize noise after midnight. I don't understand why Las Graditas has no such rule, or why management doesn't enforce it if there is one.

We only expected to spend one night here before heading to Puerto Vallarta, but ended up ditching that plan and staying three. Four of us needed two beds, and the room worked well for that. It was close to the center and the AC worked, though the Wi-Fi didn’t. Amigo was always at the desk and looked after us, even lending us the football for the day. The stairs were a rough climb each morning after a night out, but for a last-minute, good-value stay, it felt like a refuge in the middle of a hectic few days.

The staff were kind, but that was the only positive in what was easily our worst hotel stay. We booked two rooms, one for us and one for the kids, then discovered theirs had no bathroom and they were expected to use a shared one. We paid to move them into a regular room. Those rooms felt like monastery cells, with old beds and covers, a leaking shower, hot water only after we asked, and Wi-Fi that kept dropping every minute. The pool was dirty and had far too much chlorine. The place was awful, and we’re not a spoiled family. The location works during the day and evening, but nights were unbearable. Music from the bar next door went until 4 am, then the roosters started up. Even earplugs didn’t help, and none of us slept. We’d planned to stay one night and spend the next day at the beach, but we were too exhausted, so we caught the bus back to our condo in PV. I still can’t believe I booked this place. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

The people here are humble and helpful, and the service was good. It’s a very cheap hostel in a perfect spot, really close to the beach.
