Our honeymoon last month at Casa de la Playa was unforgettable. The oceanfront suite we were upgraded to had an incredible view, and the room felt both like home and the most luxurious place we've stayed. The beach was perfectly private, and in January all the pools were warm. I can't wait to swim out to that infinity pool view again. The food was the best we've ever had, with 10/10 dining throughout. Everything was tailored to what we enjoy, and our dietary restrictions were handled with real care. The bilingual staff made communication easy, wherever you come from. Muluk Spa was such an inviting experience that we wanted to book another service the next day. Our private airport ride was easy, and we enjoyed asking our driver questions. The butlers and staff were friendly and accommodating: they made baths for us, brought gifts, gave us tours, and replied to messages in under a minute every time. Even the resort scent was magical, so we bought the room spray before leaving Arte, which was another 10/10 experience.

Our only disappointment was dinner at Xal, which wasn't good. The breakfast servers there, Miguel, Carlos, and Rene, were especially wonderful, and breakfast itself was amazing. The staff in general were great, the drinks were good, and the pools were perfect. The rooms had incredible detail, and the beach and water were crystal clear, the best Caribbean water we've ever swum in. We never struggled to find a beach or pool chair, and someone was always ready to bring food or a drink. We'll absolutely come back.

Casa de la Playa gave us one of our best vacations, with the staff, food, parks, and smooth VIP service all coming together. Our February 2-9, 2026 stay felt far beyond a traditional all-inclusive. The Super Bowl fell on our last evening, and watching from the rooftop pool bar with the ocean behind us and several themed courses was a fun way to finish. We stayed in a spacious, beautifully designed beachfront room with a private pool, stone bathtub, and direct beach access. A small feature we especially appreciated was the private room service cupboard, so deliveries could arrive without staff entering. VIP airport transportation set the tone, and the butlers' private chat made it easy to arrange drivers whenever we needed them. Moving between parks, dinners, and activities felt effortless and safe. Dining was outstanding and creative, often as multi-course tasting menus. The Casa de la Playa experiences, including the cenote dinner, Mayan village dinner, and backstage experience, stood out. Breakfast overlooking the ocean at Tuch de Luna became part of every day. We also visited the Xcaret parks. At Xplor, we drove amphibian vehicles over rough terrain, did all 11 zip lines, and swam in cenotes. Seeing parts of the parks both at night and in daylight made the trip feel immersive. Neftalí, Gabriela, and Francisco were caring and attentive butlers, with Gabriela going especially far for us. Miguel, Angelina, and Felipe at the pool and rooftop areas made each day feel welcoming and personal. For travelers seeking a higher-end stay centered on experiences, we'd absolutely recommend it.

We paid a lot for La Casa de la Playa, but I wouldn't recommend it to a group larger than two. The reviews had sounded spectacular, so we expected a wonderful stay for my family and my brother's family. The beginning was promising: the rooms were beautiful, and Miguel at the rooftop went out of his way to bring us delicious appetizers. After that, it became disappointing. There were six of us, adults including three people in their twenties, and nowhere for all of us to sit together on any day. The beach has only six lounge chairs. There is no pool, just lovely ocean-facing areas with maybe 20 places to sit, many of them two-person bed swings. For a five-star hotel in a sunny beach destination, it was frustrating not to be able to sit in the sun with our family. Our nice butlers couldn't solve it, so each day we went to a different nearby hotel that wasn't five-star to find beach chairs and spend time together. Dinner arrangements were another problem. Our travel agent had booked one lovely Mexican Spectacular experience and said the butler could help with the other nights. We asked on arrival, but were told most places were booked. One night all six of us had to order room service in one of our rooms because nothing was available at La Casa de la Playa or any other Xcaret hotel. I can see it working well for a couple, but not for a family.

The welcome gifts are just the start of the thoughtful touches here, even the suite has a mesmerizing jellyfish window. Between the artwork, the 24-hour wine cellar, chocolate bar, and tequila bar, the place feels one of a kind. You can relax at the pool or spa, or take it easy on the white sand by the ocean, while eating and drinking like royalty. It's hard to describe how this magnificent property manages to feel both luxurious and down to earth. You feel welcomed and special, and definitely well fed. Special thanks to PR manager Alan, bar manager Sergio, and butlers Neftali and Gabriela.
