The shuttle makes the airport easy to reach, just about a three-minute drive away. I’d stay here again whenever I fly out of Tampico. The property was spotless, the staff were friendly, and check-in was surprisingly easy for a Mexican hotel. The rooms have been remodeled, with especially nice bathrooms. I’ve been let down by Hilton generally this year, but this Hampton Inn was a very nice stay.

Even on a short visit, I had a fantastic time. My room was clean and the bed was comfy, and both airport pickup and drop-off were available. The front desk service was quick and friendly. Shout out to Ely! I didn’t get to try breakfast, though I’m sure it was fantastic. I’d definitely come back 💯

The moldy smell in my room was so bad that I couldn’t sleep. The furniture looked old and dirty as soon as I walked in, and the place really needs investment and a remodel. I can’t believe this is a Holiday Inn. The franchise should see how the hotel is damaging its reputation and missing Holiday Inn standards. I wouldn’t stay again, even for free.

Housekeeping was great, and the male staff were too. The women at the front desk need to be friendlier. Forced smiles don’t count. One of them had my 11-year-old sign a form saying we’d owe a $350 peso fee if a beach towel wasn’t returned. My husband was beside her, but he mostly speaks English, and I think English should be a must at a hotel with so many foreign guests. When I asked why my daughter had to sign something she didn’t fully understand, the desk agent smiled and talked back instead of apologizing.
