Real Carretero

We were on the ground floor in room 10, right at street level, and noise never bothered us, even with a tianguis just outside the window. The curtain did have a 6 cm gap at the bottom, though, letting in light and the distracting sight of people passing by. We also couldn’t try the restaurant/cafe because it only opens on limited days and times due to staffing. The courtyard inside was a nice place to sit, and the location was ideal, with little shops, restaurants, and bakeries nearby and the main plaza less than two blocks away. During our two-week trip to the region, this was easily our favorite place to stay, thanks to the service and wonderfully comfortable beds. Armando, Reynaldo, and Javier all went above and beyond. They helped sort out translation problems, brought extra blankets, and personally took us to a doctor and pharmacy when one of us got sick over a holiday weekend and very little was open. We had to keep searching, but they didn’t leave us to figure it out alone, even when we were walking slowly. We really hope to return when we’re healthy and have more time to enjoy this beautiful area and the hotel.
