Cabo Alto Hotel

The cleaning and restaurant staff were excellent, but the reception staff were terrible. It was awful when the power failed this past weekend across Costa Esmeralda. For a hotel of this caliber, I find it unacceptable that there’s no backup generator to keep guests comfortable during an outage. The rooms started overheating, and there wasn’t enough water to shower, wash our hands, or even flush the toilet.

There was no restaurant, and the red ants were all over the hotel, especially by the pool; mosquitoes were swarming too. I’ve stayed here before and everything was great, but this time room #114 was in terrible shape. The door glass was broken, the shower curtain was clear plastic like the kind used to cover notebooks, and paint was peeling off the walls. I hope they repair it, because this used to be a good place to relax.

Hotel Cabo Alto is beautiful, clean, and wonderfully peaceful, just right for really relaxing. It’s also close to activities like El Tajín and Filobobos, whether you’re interested in rafting or trekking. Such an incredible place. Thank you.

The shower would sometimes give hot water, then suddenly stopped working altogether. The rooms seemed neglected, with dirty, patched sheets and walls stained with what looked like blood or something similar.
