We ended up leaving without staying. Plaza Marsol seems popular with Mexicans and has a restaurant, and the rooms are okay with modern air conditioning. We had booked for about 750 Pesos, but disliked that the first room got sun all day. We asked to switch; the replacement had the same issue, yet the price suddenly became 900 Pesos because it had a larger, queen-size bed.

The pool was really nice, and the water temperature was just right. I also liked the direct walkway to the beach and the little hose showers for rinsing off afterward. They had a dial-like control so the water wouldn’t come out too hard. But there were ants everywhere, and the blankets felt scratchy. The air conditioning either didn’t work or was too cold.

Plaza Marsol does have direct beach access, which is the main difference from the cheaper hotels nearby. There aren’t any hotel amenities or services there, though, and for the quality it feels a little expensive. If I came back, I’d probably pick one of the hotels across from the beach since they cost less.
