Hotel del Centro HC

We booked this place for a family wedding after seeing the good reviews, but it fell short on a few basics. The location is great, the service was nice, and the coffee place by the lobby serves good coffee. The rooftop bar is nice for an afternoon drink, but on weekends the bass-heavy music blasts until midnight. We were on the first floor and could feel it booming. I can’t imagine how it is on a higher floor, and it seems odd that guests aren’t told about this level of noise. Our room was okay, if odd. The listed balcony was only about six inches wide, which felt misleading. Basic things you’d expect, like hair dryers, irons, and tissues, weren’t in the room and had to be requested. We ended up using the extra toilet paper as tissues. The bathroom’s shower had a partly see-through glass wall, but the whole shower was glass, so from the main room you could see right through the bathroom to someone on the toilet. We covered it with the extra blanket. There was only a waist-high wardrobe for a closet, so we had to hang our wedding clothes on the shower wall. The ceilings are beautifully high, which makes the choice of short cabinets puzzling. It just didn’t feel like much thought had gone into the hotel guest experience.

A lovely, clean, comfortable place that feels worth the price. It’s affordable and safe, with nearby parking, coffee next door, food, and the plaza close by. The views are great, and you get that small-town atmosphere with all its local character. I’d give it five stars if the hot water weren’t intermittent.

The hotel looks out over the square, but it overlooks a lot of amenities. There are better hotels near the square, and this one only rents to friends and family. Try Magno.
