Posada del Tepozteco - Hotel & Gallery

Our suite was spacious, beautiful, clean, and comfortable, but people kept wandering onto the terrace to take photos and peeking into the room. We ended up keeping the curtains closed most of the time. The hotel really needs to deal with this lack of privacy. The pool looked amazing, but with hours from noon to 6 p.m., we couldn’t use it and explore town freely in the same day. The building, gardens, and views are stunning. Older staff members were wonderful and went out of their way for us, as were the gardeners and cleaning staff. Some of the younger staff, especially at the front desk, seemed indifferent. When we needed help getting to Cuernavaca, they were dismissive, so we walked to the bus station. Basic greetings and asking how things were going were mostly missing. I had to say hello several times to check if they were ignoring me, and they were. Room service was another problem. An older staff member rudely said the kitchen was closed, even though the menu showed other hours. He eventually let us order, but the food came incomplete, tasted bad, and was overpriced. The restaurant staff were friendly, though the food there also felt too expensive for what it was. The cocktails were great, and the in-room massages were excellent, 10/10 and highly recommended. The place is outstandingly beautiful, but service is inconsistent.

We spent two nights at Posada del Tepozteco for our honeymoon, and it was an incredible stay. The architecture and immaculate grounds were a wonderful combination with the attentive, friendly staff. I enthusiastically recommend it if you’re after a luxurious but relaxed stay in the heart of lovely Tepoztlan.

Room 25, if you can get it, feels like a retreat inside this beautiful retreat, and the in-room massages were among the best we’ve ever had. Make time to walk around the whole property and take in the art and landscaping, then have the amazing breakfast at a table overlooking the town. The photos really don’t do this hotel justice. It’s beautiful inside and out, with exceptionally kind, welcoming staff and delicious food. The grounds are impeccably maintained, with stunning mountain and town views, and art and sculptures around every turn. We can’t recommend Posada highly enough. It’s a true treasure!

The staff are so hospitable and make sure you’re looked after. Set up high, the hotel has lovely mountain scenery, and the local market is an easy walk away. The garden is manicured, the pool is a decent size, and there are paintings and sculptures from Mexico and around the world. It’s a boutique style hotel where the architecture and every corner feel thoughtfully made. The rooms are beautiful too. If you’re into mountains, local vibes, culture, and being pampered, add this one to your bucket list.
