Hotel Del Parque

In our opinion, Hotels.com should remove this place from its listings. Getting to the hotel was very difficult because construction had blocked many streets, with detours all around. Off-street parking was useful, and although check-in took a while, the staff were friendly. The unheated pool was sparkling clean, and the lounge chairs and cushions were in good condition. There was peeling tape all around the pool deck, which looked strange but didn't affect the pool. The room was horrible. It smelled damp, and we could see mould on the ceiling and inside the closet. The closet smelled so bad that we didn't put our clothes in it. In the morning there was no running water and no electricity. We were told there was a widespread power outage, but on our short walk into town, all the businesses had power. The hotel advertises a restaurant, but there isn't one. You can buy some cold drinks. There seemed to be only one other couple staying there, and the staff put us in rooms side by side. My husband had to get up in the middle of the night to ask them to turn down the blaring TV.
