Hotel Real de San Jose

The hotel is quite close to the center and looks very nice. We stayed over the weekend, and communication was great. Everyone was friendly, and the shuttle service was useful. It costs extra, but I thought it was worth it. The pools were clean and lovely. There were lots of cobwebs in the common areas, and those definitely weren't Halloween decorations, haha. An iron in the room would've been handy since we had traveled from far away. I know it's not essential, but it would be a nice addition. Breakfast was just okay, nothing special, though the prices were affordable. Our key card took a long time to open the door, and at one point it wouldn't work at all. They fixed it right away.

The rooms were spotless, and the property was quiet and beautiful. The food was good too. But the rules felt incredibly inflexible. The room was a little expensive, and then so many things cost extra or weren't allowed. Reception was disappointing. The young woman who helped us seemed very apathetic.

We had a great stay and will definitely return. The staff were all friendly, the heated pool stayed at a perfect temperature, and the restaurant food was delicious. Our room and the facilities were spotless, and the gym was very functional. They also provide transportation to downtown Tequisquiapan. Highly recommend!

We paid 3900 for a suite, and on arrival they said a buffet breakfast was included. They didn't honor that, blaming misinformation from the person who checked us in. The breakfast they said was included turned out to be just coffee, bread, and fruit. Since we had the suite, they offered a "discount" so we wouldn't have to pay the full buffet price. For what the suite cost, that breakfast was laughable and not worth paying for. Get clear details before you book. Afterward, they won't take responsibility for what they say to sell a room. If you can, look at another hotel. There were definitely better options, though they didn't have the amenities we were looking for that day.
