Hotel Cucapa

They charge 300 pesos for each visitor, and you aren't allowed to bring your own food. The rooms aren't clean, and when I pointed out that mine was dirty, they still tried to charge me to switch rooms. Customer service was poor, with staff giving guests attitude. With so few guests, it felt like they tried to charge for every little thing. I really don't recommend this place, even for one night.

Around 1 a.m., while I was asleep, the receptionist and police knocked on my door. My room had no way to lock from the inside, so I opened it, and the officer blocked the doorway and asked whether I was alone and for Mexican identification. They wouldn't accept my US identification. I showed them a camera on the nightstand and said it was live on Facebook, which wasn't true, it was off. They called it a routine inspection and left. I won't come back.

The room felt luxurious, and the outside of the hotel looked pretty nice too. It's clean, the water is warm, and the beds are comfortable. Like many hotels in Mexico, they have space for couples who just need a place for three hours, but they also offer full overnight hotel service. Families with children use it too.

The room smelled, and everything in it was dirty: stained pillowcases and sheets, dirty stained blankets, and filthy bathroom towels with rips and stains. The curtains were hideous, and the bathroom needs repairs and a proper cleaning. This room needs a fast makeover, with new sheets, curtains, and paint. I won't stay here again. The hotel replies to reviews, but trust me, nothing is being looked into.
