Hotel Velario

They advertised a lower price, then changed it when I arrived. This has happened to me twice. They also look for little flaws in the room as a reason to keep your deposit. After I left, they said they'd refund the unused night, but now that I'm home they're refusing. The front desk and management are terrible. At $100 a night for a mediocre two star hotel, it's not worth it, especially if they'll keep your deposit.

The manager gets things done with style, like Pat Reilly of the lakers. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and the restaurant was really good. I recommend the chilaquilles. Taxis are right there, and the location is good. Some people want everything cheaper, but I thought it was worth the price and will return.

A buddy and I booked two rooms. After my shower, I found there were no towels, so I called the front desk and waited around ten minutes. Still nothing. I called a second time while wet and standing on the slippery tile, and the girl at the desk hung up on me. Pathetic.

I got back from staying here last weekend. Don't go. There were no towels, the fridge didn't work, the beds felt like box springs, and there was no air conditioning. It's the middle of summer, and they were booking rooms without AC. When I complained at the front desk, they threatened to kick me out. If you stay anyway, that's on you.
