The location is excellent, close to the border and lots of things to see. Valet staff were skilled at stacking the cars and were great to deal with. Check-in was smooth, though my card was charged three times before we even arrived, with each charge reversed right away. The front desk support was okay, and the woman working there during checkout was wonderful. Room service was confusing. It isn't charged to the room, and you have to pay cash at the door. For card payment, you have to go to the restaurant. It's meant to run until 10 p.m., but it took three hours to get coffee, and we only learned later that we'd ordered incorrectly. Even my boyfriend, who lived in TJ, was confused. Staff took the cash without offering change. The first coffee delivery was good, and the staff member was lovely, though I overpaid and she didn't mention it. The person bringing our second and last coffee was rude and wouldn't help. He demanded cash at the door, even though we'd been told cards were accepted, and we had no cash. He wouldn't take the coffee back or explain we could pay by card upstairs. He just said I could get free coffee downstairs, made me feel dumb in Spanish, which I understand, and left. I went to the restaurant, where they served stale coffee, but I paid. Uber Eats is much better than eating at the hotel. The room was clean, with a hot shower, comfortable bed, AC, heat, and TV. It had no fridge, which was fine. It was enough for two people, especially if you're out all day. There were only sheets, no blanket, and they don't have blankets. It could get loud, but people were respectful and quiet by 11. Our room had no windows, but neither of us minded. The jacuzzis were closed. My boyfriend was happy with the gym. The stay was just fine, with no expectations going in and not much time spent at the hotel.

I'm writing this from the room at 3:41 a.m., waiting for 7 so I can wake my daughter and get out. I should've stuck with West Plaza hotel. This is my second time here. The first stay went okay, and my daughter liked the pool tables in the cafeteria, so I booked again. This time we got a room with no window at all, not even a fake one. The people across the hall have had their TV loud all night, and we can hear everything from the next room, where people are having sex. It's really uncomfortable. I haven't called the desk because my daughter woke briefly and fell asleep again, and I figured we'd just wait a few more hours. I've had better stays in cheap hotels around here. The staff are nice, but if you want peace and a good night's sleep, don't come here. I also saw a couple of prostitutes inside, so the place feels unsafe. I feel awful bringing my young daughter here. Never again.

Joselyn, the waitress, was rude when I asked for water at the bar while I was working out. The gym has no water. She brought me warm water and asked for 150 pesos, or $8, even though water is usually complimentary. As a hotel guest, I'd gotten cold water there before while using the gym. It felt like she went out of her way to insult me. I'm not sure what her problem was. I've been very polite to the staff.

The area is great, with plenty within walking distance to keep you occupied. The room was small but usable, and had a mini fridge hidden behind what I thought was a safe because of the outside lock. WiFi was very unreliable, and the shower had a low pressure rainfall head. The building looks like it was thrown together in a month, with tight hallways, a steep narrow stairwell, and a slow elevator. For what you pay, it's about what you'd expect, but I'd spend more for a better nearby option.

The staff at the front desk were rude, and the service was awful. Our door was broken, so we had to switch rooms in the middle of the night. If you have another hotel option, take it.
