Casa Tlaxcalli by Beddo Hoteles

The rooms are excellent, but the welcome service was worse than a military policeman's. I arrived at night with my whole family, exhausted after driving nearly six hours through heavy traffic leaving Mexico City. We were finally at the hotel to rest, and before we could even catch our breath, someone started lecturing us: “Keys must be returned to reception even if you're only going out briefly; towels and other linens are checked before you leave, and damage will mean an extra charge; etc., etc.” Good grief!

The internet was terrible, really bad, and the parking lot is tiny. Still, the hotel itself is excellent: the rooms are spacious, everything is new and modern, and it's sparkling clean. There's even a lovely cat on the ground floor.

The staff were friendly, and I liked the rooms' design. They were clean, but small and without closets. Since the rooms are so small, noise from next door carries through. We had very noisy neighbors and could hear them snoring all night 🥲. The hotel's right in the city center, which makes it easy to walk around and see the sights. Be careful not to stain the towels, since they charge for them. 😓

It's in a safe, quiet area near the center, with restaurants, churches, and parks within walking distance. Well located.
