City Express Junior by Marriott Toluca Aeropuerto

There was free coffee and tea, and the hotel is right by the airport. But the room had stains on the floor, awful shower pressure, and a TV that didn’t work. They only provided shampoo and a bar of soap, with no hair dryer. At 5:00 am, we got stuck trying to get out for an early flight because there are gates at the entrance and exit, and the security guard had fallen asleep. It wasn’t my worst hotel stay, but it wasn’t my best either.

We paid $84 or $1500 mexican pesos, and for that price the room wasn’t worth it. We were three adults with a baby and chose a suite because double rooms weren’t available. We expected it to be bigger, but it was actually smaller than a double room. The photos are misleading, and another hotel would’ve been a better choice. Our door card started failing. I told the staff, but they only reprogrammed it, even though the card was visibly damaged, and they didn’t replace it.

There’s an OXXO next door, and the airport is about five minutes away. I’ve stayed at a bunch of City Express hotels across Mexico, and this one was the least expensive. It has parking, brand coffee and breakfast, plus AC and heat, just like other Mexican hotels. Especially if you’re in the Toluca area, I’d recommend staying here.

For work, this was good for what I paid. The room was really small, and the TV channels looked blurry, but everything was clean and the staff were nice.
