I booked two rooms for three nights over New Year’s Eve and received confirmation for both. The next day I bought three flights from abroad to Mexico and rented a car. I later found out, only because I called to ask for two more rooms, that the Hacienda crew had cancelled my reservation without telling me. They refunded the payment, but the exchange rate difference left me almost $300 short on my credit card. Without that call, I would have arrived in Mexico to find out at the Hacienda that we had nowhere to stay. Cancelling the flights and rental would also have meant penalties and more losses. I emailed them evidence of the financial damage their cancellation caused and got no reply. After two weeks, I called to follow up. Andres, the employee I’d been dealing with, showed no remorse and said they weren’t going to resolve the problem because of the review I’d left on Google, as if the review somehow settled things between us. He said they’d talked to their lawyers and had been advised not to respond. He suggested I contact PROFECO, the Mexican consumer rights institution, which I will do. I strongly advise people to stay away. They’ll take full payment, cancel without notice when it suits them, and take no responsibility for the resulting losses. If you complain, they expect you to accept it, then tell you to file a complaint with a conciliation entity so they can respond.

Every corner of Hacienda Acamilpa is beautiful and full of history, and our guests are still telling us how in awe they were of the place. We got married there, and the whole experience felt magical. It’s one of the most incredible venues I’ve ever seen, with a timeless feel. What meant the most was how Andres, the owner, and the hotel and kitchen staff looked after us and paid attention to the details. Andres was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating. Alan, who leads the staff, was so kind and had everything covered. I’m really grateful for our time there and for everything the team did. Thank you again! We hosted a big group at Hacienda Acamilpa for a BBQ, a swim, and a tour of the property, and had an amazing day. It’s only a couple hours from Mexico City, but it feels like a whole different world. Andres and his team keep the property in great shape, and their service is hard to match. I’ve been twice now and can’t wait to go back.

We came from Mexico City and the drive felt worth it. My family and I spent two days swimming and wandering around the beautiful property for my sister’s engagement. The staff helped with the plans and was attentive to what we needed. We had two meals there, along with drinks and snacks, and were very happy with the food. The chef’s mole was a delicious surprise. We’d like to come back.
