Alaya Tulum

A birthday surprise of fresh chocolate cake and orange juice made our stay especially memorable. The staff also kept the room tidy and changed the towels whenever we went out, and they were very attentive throughout. My kids and I had a great time, and breakfast was quite nice. We’re thinking about coming back as a family.

The treehouse room made me feel like a kid again. It was clean, simple, eco-friendly, and well cared for, with thoughtful details throughout. The warm lighting around the beach, lobby, and paths gave the property a magical feel. It’s quiet and private, with a beautiful beach, and plenty of good local restaurants within a half-mile walk. The people were a huge part of what made the week special. Daniel, Sophia, Erick, Macelo, David, Macario, the housekeeping and grounds teams, and the owner were all so welcoming and attentive. Yoga classes had a range of instructors and suited different skill levels. I went seven times, and the sound bath was a particular favorite. My husband and I spent seven nights at Alaya in late February 2026, and when my son asked me to pick the week’s highlight, I couldn’t. There were too many. I’d happily recommend Alaya for a relaxing, friendly getaway.

The beach was a highlight for us, with lovely white sand and clear, postcard-like water. It felt peaceful when we relaxed or walked along the shore. We were also close to many restaurants, including several Michelin-star dining options, plus shops and charming streets. The area felt safe and easy to explore, with plenty of energy but no overwhelming feeling. The boutique hotel had a rare mix of comfort, intimacy, and luxury. Staff were warm and attentive from the moment we arrived, and every interaction felt personal and thoughtful. It’s a hidden gem for a beachfront stay, and we can’t wait to come back.

Alaya felt like a little paradise, private and beautiful, and we felt safe and looked after the whole time. Everyone was kind and helpful. Sofía, Daniel, and the reception team were especially quick to respond on WhatsApp, always friendly and positive. Breakfast was good, and they brought coffee and biscuits to our porch for free every day. The beach is right there from any room, so we didn’t miss having a pool. They also have partner beach clubs to enjoy. Even when the weather wasn’t great, we could try different yoga classes and other hotel activities. We loved the whole stay and said we’d choose Alaya again if we return to Mexico. Really the best experience. Thanks, and greetings from Germany!
