The quiet part of Tulum where the apartments sit made for peaceful nights and mornings with birdsong. The location is excellent, and I’d love to return. Inside, the air conditioning worked and the Wi-Fi was good, though the room lighting was inadequate. I understand the boho, mystical atmosphere, but guests should have the option of proper lights too. Casa Coyote was a new kind of environment for me, and it did meet some of my expectations. Still, with such a large apartment complex, I expected someone at reception around the clock. After traveling a long way, I want to feel looked after and safe. Reaching a manager on WhatsApp isn’t the same as having someone there in person. Ivo, the manager, was helpful by phone, but I’d come to a hotel, not Airbnb-style accommodation.

The housekeeping staff and security guard were the best part of our stay at Hotel Casa Coyote. They were kind, attentive, and professional, and I really appreciated their work. We were there for a friend’s 40th birthday, but the experience overall was disappointing for what we paid. Rest was hard with people slamming doors and the noise carrying through the building at all hours. The Wi-Fi kept cutting out or not working, and when we asked about it, we got excuses instead of a fix. For a place presented at this level, I expected better comfort, communication, and quality. It wasn’t worth the price, and based on my experience I wouldn’t recommend it.

The location and beach access were good, and the cleaning ladies were lovely and did an amazing job. The room was clean and not horrible, but the place is run down, and the photos look VERY different from reality. Our stairs felt unstable and unsafe. The toilet wouldn’t flush, and the shower stayed warm for maybe three minutes. There was no service to speak of, and the Wi-Fi still didn’t work after we talked to someone twice. If you want a cheap, rundown hotel, this might suit you.

The beach bar was the highlight for me, with a laid-back feel and amazing ocean views while watching the sunset. Casa Coyote is a beautiful hotel that balances comfort and style, and the staff made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. A relaxing, memorable getaway, and I’d highly recommend it.

When I’m in Tulum, this is my favorite place to stay. It’s peaceful in the jungle, with the beach just a three-minute walk across the way. The rooms are well kept, with AC and really hot water. Everyone on staff is so nice and accommodating, and having a kitchen and water available is a great touch. Love Casa Coyote!
