A really friendly, family-run guesthouse within walking distance of the beach. Breakfast is home-cooked, and renting a bike is convenient. The family even organized a NYE party for all the guests, which was really above and beyond. Definitely recommendable!

I loved staying here. The people working there were so welcoming, more like friends than staff, and the free bikes made the beach an easy five-minute ride away. Best hostel or hotel I’ve stayed at.

The location was the one redeeming part, close to both the beach and Tulum’s archaeological site. Inside, the rooms and kitchen were dirty, and ants and spiders bit us through the night. The volunteers seemed not to care about guests. Worst stay of my seven months traveling in America.

The pool was huge, breakfast was great, and the rental bikes looked brand new. I was there for ten days in late May, shortly after the new owners took over from Lobo Inn. It was off season and very quiet, and I was usually the only guest, aside from the occasional overnight visitor. I spoke little or no Spanish, but everyone was lovely and did a lot to make my stay nice. The woman running the place was always cheerful and even gave me Spanish lessons. If I return to Tulum, I’d stay at Gastello Inn again without hesitation. Wishing the owners and staff all the best, and hope I get back someday.
